Why do we sometimes struggle to share resources fairly?

Imagine you're at a party with a limited supply of snacks. Everyone wants a piece, but there's not enough for everyone to have their favorite snack.

Pareto efficiency is about finding a way to share snacks so that no one can have more without someone else getting less. It's like a fair game where everyone gets a turn.

Example

If there are 10 cookies and 5 friends, you can't give 3 cookies to one friend without giving less to the others.

Remember this

Pareto efficiency ensures resources are allocated in a way that improves someone's situation without worsening another's.
