Imagine you have a cat in a box with a poison that could kill it. Until you open the box and check, the cat is in a mysterious state.
Schrödinger's thought experiment suggests that at a quantum level, particles can exist in multiple states simultaneously. This idea doesn't quite apply to everyday objects like cats.
