Did you know light behaves differently at tiny scales?

Imagine you're trying to tune a radio to a specific station, but the signal keeps cutting out at higher frequencies. This happens with black-body radiation too.

Planck figured out that light behaves like tiny packets of energy, called quanta, instead of a continuous wave. This explains why the light spectrum gets weird at high frequencies.

Example

If light were a continuous wave, tuning to a high-frequency station would work smoothly. But with quanta, the signal jumps in discrete packets, causing the cutouts.
