Pocket Polymath · Higher or Lower

Your bets live on the chain

Higher or Lower's money mode is different from any trading app you've used, in one big way: your bets are completely decentralised, thanks to Hyperliquid. There's no company account holding your balance and no bookmaker on the other side. Your money sits in an account only your wallet controls, on a public blockchain, and every bet you swipe is a real position anyone can look up. This post walks through exactly what happens — with pictures, and real addresses you can open right now.

The whole journey, in one picture

One:you connect MetaMask — that's just introducing yourself; your keys stay yours. Two: you move some USDC (a dollar-pegged coin) into your own Hyperliquid account. Think chips at your own table — you can cash out to your wallet whenever you like. Three: you approve a session once, and from then on every swipe places a real order in one tap — no pop-ups. The other side of your bet is the open market, not us and not a house.

When you win, nobody “sends” you a payout. The exchange's clearinghouse — software running on the blockchain — credits your account the instant the bet settles. Payment and settlement are the same event. That's what a decentralised exchange is.

Don't take our word for it — go look

Everything on Hyperliquid is public. A few real things you can open right now:

And the app's own earnings get the same glass walls: our fee address is 0xfE376B505b357f9DE2CaAa0dF378297732590AE4 — you can audit what we earn the same way you audit your own positions.

Your position, your timer

the market, ticking alongyou swipeyour hold endsyour price locks hereyour win(other direction = your loss)You pick the clock — illustration, not live data.

Every coin card carries its own clock. You pick a stake ($10 up to $500, never more than your balance), pick a hold from 15 minutes to 5 hours, and swipe — the price at that moment is your line. When your hold ends, the position closes itself and the move decides the outcome. You can close any position early from the dashboard, and an optional leverage slider scales the position on top of your stake.

One honest caveat: the timer runs in your browser. Positions auto-close only while the tab is open — close the app and a live position keeps running until you come back, or until you close it yourself on Hyperliquid, which works from anywhere because the position is yours, not ours.

What it costs

Two small, visible fees. Hyperliquid charges its normal trading fee (a few hundredths of a percent). And this app adds a 0.05% builder fee — five cents on a $100 bet — which is how Pocket Polymath earns its keep. You approve that fee cap yourself, once, and you can see or revoke it any time on Hyperliquid's own approvals page. No spreads, no hidden margins, no house edge — our incentive is that you keep playing, not that you lose.

Straight talk

These are real, fast markets and you can lose what you stake — play with money you'd spend on a night out, not money you need. Real-stakes mode isn't available in every country (Hyperliquid blocks the US, Ontario, and sanctioned regions, and your local rules apply). The free points game is for everyone, everywhere, and it's the same game — same cards, same deck, none of the risk. Educational content, not financial advice.
